Clinical/Forensic Psychologist Private Practice

Dr. Hunter began her career at Atascadero State Hospital, working with both SVP and mentally disordered sex-offending placements. She then transferred to CDCR-DJJ, where she worked with Juvenile males adjudicated for sexual offending behaviors for approximately 16 years, first as a clinician, then as the Senior Supervisor, then as Program Coordinator. She collaborated with the developers of the Juvenile curriculum and has trained over 200 probation officers, clinicians, and custody officers in the curriculum and its associated treatment protocols. She currently has a community-based forensic practice evaluating pre-trial defendants for various attorneys as well as conducting Competency to Stand Trial evaluations for the Superior Court. Dr. Hunter also provides clinical supervision for the HOPE Program, an outpatient mental health agency specializing in general psychotherapy and CASOMB-certified sex-offense-specific treatment for adult and adolescent clients. She currently serves as the Acting Head of Clinical Services at Main Street Youth and Family Services in Stockton, CA, providing clinical supervision and training to mental health clinicians and behavioral specialists who work with Head Start and preschool-age children, Foster Care families, and at-risk youth. Dr. Hunter is the proud mom of two adult children, as well as the two adorably crazy Frenchies she RVs with in her rare free time.
